For the month of September, Zupan's Markets invites you to Remember Our Founder by donating to the John J. Zupan Foundation at each Zupan's Markets location. All donations throughout the month will be matched by Zupan's Markets. 100 percent of the funds raised will go toward Legacy Emanuel's critical care expansion which includes: a 12-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit, hybrid operating room, Emergency Department Observation Unit, and the development of a large adult Emergency Department.
The John J. Zupan Foundation was created in 2012 by the Zupan family to honor the memory of Zupan's Markets founder John J. Zupan and serves to support Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. In August 2011, John Zupan arrived in critical condition at Legacy Emanuel after being struck by a car. Because of the trauma team's expertise, he was kept alive until family and friends could arrive. Filled with gratitude for the compassion and care they experienced from Legacy Emanuel's staff, the Zupan Family established the John J. Zupan Foundation to ensure that others are able to receive the same extraordinary service and care.

The John J. Zupan Foundation has filed an application for 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization status. All contributions are tax-deductible.
